IDENTIFICATION
Excerpts from A Lecture Series Given on Identification
New York City, 1993

Identification gets you to hold onto a negative emotion like a dog with a bone.

Identification causes you to confuse intensity with reality. Sometimes reality can be very subtle.

Identification adds speed as well as duration onto any negative emotion.

Identification causes you to tell and retell "the story" to everyone you know.

It is identification that causes you to care about being in the right and looking good to yourself as well as to everyone else.
